Mountain Biking at Sleepy Hollow
A special thanks to Fellowship of the Wheel volunteers Dave
Kelly and Jeff Hildebrand. These two guys have been spending
hours in the woods clearing single track, benching, and otherwise
improving our mountain bike trails. Come check out their work
on Storm Trooper, and the new descent that pops out on the back
of the parking lot off of Race Loop.
Our specialty here at Sleepy Hollow is
our intermediate and advanced single track. We have several miles
great trails, and the feedback we've been getting is that we're
one of the most interesting and best places to mountain bike
in the area. Our trails are challenging, but fun! Our Skywalker
singletrack is probably our most popular trail. Yoda is very
popular for our expert riders, and Millennium Falcon is a great
loop as well. The Blue loop is an intermediate 2 mile loop consisting
of half single track, and half double track. We offer over 10
miles of single track, plus 20 miles of ski trails to ride on!
Come for the challenge, come for the fun! Here is our trail
map.
Sleepy Hollow's trail system also connects to the Hinesburg
Town Forest, where many miles of single track have been expertly
constructed by the Fellowship
Of The Wheel. The connector trail (~ 2 miles from our lodge
to the entrance to the town forest trail system) is mostly downhill
and challenging, but combining Sleepy Hollow's trail system with
the Hinesburg Town Forest allows for a fantastic amount of great
riding to be had. Exploring both trail systems takes at least
two good days of riding for most intermediate/advanced riders.
Here is a link to a map
of the Town Forest Trails.
All users of the trail system must sign in and pay the trail
fee. This can be done at our Kiosk in front of the bike shop,
or in our bike shop. FYI a hose is available to wash down your
bikes, located in front of the bike shop near the stone wall.
