Sleepy Hollow was formerly the Sherman Hollow Ski Area (1978-1993), which featured a 3km lighted loop (on the Ridge Road trail), a 50 seat restaurant, and an outdoor hot tub.

- [Snowmaking](https://skisleepyhollow.com/snowmaking/): SNOWMAKING PROJECT:  We started snowmaking in the winter of 2012 to improve the skiing experience here at Sleepy Hollow.  2011/12 year was very poor natural snow year (27 days open), so it was time to install snowmaking.   The first year we had a 700 meter loop, then we added pipe and more snow guns in the following years to build up to a 1.2km loop (2014-2017).  We got up to a 2km snowmaking loop (2018-2021).  2.5km (2022-) and now 3km .  Making snow is a challenging endeavor with breakdowns, meltdowns, freeze ups and late nights.   But it has totally been worth it as the skiing is much more consistent and reliable.

- [Ski Racing & Race Results](https://skisleepyhollow.com/ski-racing-race-results/): Welcome to the Wednesday Night Worlds XC Race Series at Sleepy Hollow and presented by the Skirack. Adult Races Start at 6:30pm (kids race starts at 6:05pm), and they are usually mass start. Registration is open online from a few days before to the race til 6:29pm on the day of the race. All types of racers are welcome - from never have raced before up through competitive racers. Race distances are usually 2.5km (1 lap), and 5km (2 lap) - you can choose at sign in time. You also choose your technique - classic or skate. No fluoro's - hydrocarbon waxes only (CH)! We're going to help save the world!! Come on out and give it a try. Prizes from Skirack based on number of races attended, and awarded after the last race of the season. Faster skiers should line up near the front, and slower skiers towards the rear.

Ski or snowshoe up to the Butternut Cabin for the most majestic view of the Camel's Hump. In the summer we transition to mountain biking and hiking. The intermediate/advanced mountain bike trails are challenging on the uphills and provide adrenaline inducing rock features, jumps and turns.

Butternut Cabin is located one mile from our main lodge, and is accessible only by skiing/snowshoeing in the winter or hiking/biking in the summer. There is no driving to the cabin. ​ If you are skiing the Bishop Trail is the easiest access. If you are biking, hiking or snowshoeing you should take the Skywalker Trail that starts in the back of the parking lot. The cabin includes firewood and does not need to be restocked by guests inside the cabin. (stacked firewood provided for wood stove use only, not for the fire pit) Please bring your own matches, paper and kindling. There is no running water or electricity, but there is an outhouse and a spectacular view!

Molly's Meadow is a great place to camp. We do not have formal campsites, so you are welcome to pitch your tent anywhere. We also have 4 lean-tos that guests can use. They are first come first serve.
- [How do the Inn room assignments and check-in work?](https://skisleepyhollow.com/faq-items/how-do-the-room-assignments-and-check-in-work/): We prefer the wedding party to do all the room assignments for the weekend and share those with us on their wedding details form. Check-in for the Inn is at 3pm on Friday. Sometimes we can accommodate earlier check-in, but please ask us ahead of time. Check out is 11am on Sunday.
